ENTRY FORMS for the ERGON ENERGY Athletics North QLD Track and Field Championships are now available. DRAFT PROGRAM for the Ergon Energy Track & Field Championships : proposed_dradt_timetable_anq10v1 PLEASE NOTE : Some events in some age groups may not be listed, as there were no athletes in that particular event in previous years. Any missing events/age groups would be added to the timetable once entries are received to an approximant time slot as a similar age groups event. THIS IS ONLY A DRAFT AND HEATS IN SOME EVENTS MAY NEED TO BE ADDED depending on final nominations. CHANGES TO THE NATIONAL PATHWAY FOR ATHLETES 13-19YRS

Please read the below info to be informed of the - CHANGES TO THE NATIONAL PATHWAY FOR ATHLETES 13-19YRS - Athletics Australia has made a number of significant changes to the national competition structure for athletes aged 13-19 years, for the 2010/2011 season. These changes provide a clear and more defined pathway for athletes, improve quality and quantity of competition and facilitate the transition of athletes from schools to our Senior Athletics clubs. The following two (2) competitions are at the forefront of the national pathway. The main characteristics of these competitions are outlined below. Australian All Schools (Melbourne, December 2010) - Primarily a state vs. state (team based) competition - Age groups Under 18, Under 16 & Under 14 only - Limit of two athletes per event in the age groups listed above - Athletes selected from performance at the Queensland Secondary School Championships only (no qualifying standards apply) - Athletes must be bona fide Queensland school students Australian Junior Championships (Sydney, March 2011) - Considered the premier individual National Championships for athletes 13-19 years (effectively taking the place of the previous Australian All Schools model) - Age groups Under 14, Under 15, Under 16, Under 17, Under 18 & Under 20. - Athletes selected by reaching the Athletics Australia qualifying standard at a ratified competition from January 2010. - Athletes may also be selected by finishing 1st, 2nd or 3rd at the Queensland Secondary School Championships (October 2010) or at the Queensland Junior State Championships (February 2011). - Athletes must be registered with a senior athletics club Queensland Team Selection Criteria, containing the full selection details and conditions, will be made available for each of the above Australian Championships. Note - Queensland School Sport will continue to conduct the Queensland Secondary School Championships held in October, and Queensland Athletics will continue to conduct the Queensland Junior State Championships (U14-U20) in February. March Nationals can be qualified at any ANQ competition throughout the remainder of the 2010 season. Congratulations to the following ANQ Athletes who have been selected to represent Australia at the IAAF Oceania Championships in Cairns. 20 of the 50 Athletes selected for the 23rd-25th of September meet are from North Queensland and 13 members of the Senior Teams come from the Commonwealth Games team who use it as a platform for their New Delhi campaign.
