Athletics North Queensland frequently conducts competitions at Townsville Sports Reserve and Barlow Park, Cairns, which both have specific rules defined by the respective managements of the venues.
Townsville Sports Reserve
No Smoking in competition arena. Maximum spike lengths: 9mm for High Jump and Javelin, 7mm for all other events.
Barlow Park, Cairns
No Smoking in competition arena. Maximum spike lengths: 9mm for High Jump and Javelin, 7mm for all other events. No coloured drinks in competition arena. Water only.

All ANQ Championships meets will be conducted according to ANQ Age Limitations. It is reccomended that all member Clubs also conduct their competitions according to ANQ Age Limitations. Athletes should always check specific competition rules when competing at other Local, State, National and International competitions as they may be different to ANQ Age Limitations.
Age is as at 31 December in Competetion year.

The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), the governing body of Athletics, reviews and alters rules regularly. The IAAF rule book is available for purchase from the ANQ office.
