Congratulations to all athletes that competed on day 5 of the Australian Track and Field Championships, the weather was far from ideal but all the athletes pushed on.
Blake McGuiness T/F13 (Keppel Coast) in the Open Ambulant Long Jump, in far from optimal conditions jumping 3.67m in the final round to place 9th. In the Open Ambulant Discus throwing 25.22m in the 2nd round to place 7th overall.
Jade Bidgood (Peak Performance Track Club) in the Open 1500m heat 2 running 3:59.89 to place 14th.
Taylah Atkins (Townsville North Star) in the U18 100m in the 2nd heat running 12.97 to place 7th.
Hannah Edwards (Mulgrave Athletics) in the Open Hammer Throw heats with a second-round throw of 50.50m to qualify for the finals.
Lindsey Hendy T20(Townsville North Star) in the Open Ambulant Long Jump. Jumping 5.68 in the 6th round to place 5th.
Talarah Henseleit (Cairns Athletics) in the U18 100m heats, running 12.72 to qualify for the finals. Later in the day Talarah lined up for the final, with a fast start she ended up finishing 4th with a time of 12.47.
Xavier Simms (Cairns Athletics) in the U17 100m heats, running against the eventual champion in the 3rd heat, Xavier ran 11.88 to place 8th.
