The Board of Athletics North Queensland is pleased to announce the appointment of Dayne O’Hara as General Manager.
Dayne’s appointment comes as Athletics North Queensland’s longest-serving staff member, and current Operations Manager, Jim Minehane transitions into retirement. Jim will continue to assist the ANQ office during this transition period. Further advice to members and supporters in regards to Jim’s retirement will be in upcoming correspondence.
Athletics North Queensland’s President Shane Watson said Dayne’s appointment provided the organisation and the sport within North Queensland a strong stable base to commence the delivery of exciting new programs, whilst ensuring that our staple track and field and recreation running programs and administrative support continues to our members.
Dayne has had over 10 years in athletics administration, serving in multiple roles within ANQ including Manager of Strategic Development and Athletics for the Outback Manager.
He was Athletics Operation Manager at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and presently sits on a range of advisory panels and committees, including Oceania Athletics Competition Advisory Panel and The Challenge Games.
Dayne said he was excited to take on the new position at Athletics North Queensland and is looking forward to playing a crucial role in shaping the future of the sport.
