Australian Representative T35 100m Sprinter.
Congratulations Brianna Coop on an outstanding athlete career!
Coop’s started her journey at Mulgrave Athletics at a very young age. Like many athletes in North Queensland, Coop’s competed in a range of events, with a passion for discus and shot put before moving towards 100m and 200m – her strongest events on the world stage. Coop later was part of Townsville North Star while she lived in Townsville before moving down to Brisbane to further her athletics career.
At 17 years of age, Coop competed at her first World Para Championships where she received a bronze medal in the T35 100m. This was the first taste of international events and was eager to do more. Since then she has competed at multiple World Para Championships, 2016 Paralympics and the 2018 Commonwealth Games, where she once again took bronze for Australia in the T35 100m.
Coop’s “strong will” to push through many challenges allowed her to compete with the best in the World.
Athletics North Queensland wishes Brianna all the best in retirement and on the next stage of her journey.
