Australian Track and Field Championships Day 1
During the Australian Track and Field Championships ANQ will be posting daily highlights of the athletes competing in Sydney for the next 8 days.
Emmanuel Tagaloa (NMA) sped out of the blocks in the first heat of the U16 100m to take 1st place with a time of 11.30, being second fastest athlete in the field going into the finals. In a close race for the finals Emmanuel ran an 11.29 to take the bronze medal.
Ava Barron (MKY) in the 2nd Heat of the women’s U14 100m Preliminaries, ran a 13.28 to take 5th. Two hours later Ava backed up her performance in the 100m to take first place in the 3rd heat of the U14 400m running a time of 61.30 to proceed into the finals being run today at 3:03pm.

Cohen Dittmann (NMA) in the 2nd heat of the men’s U15 100m preliminaries, ran a 12.64 to take 7th in a close race.
Amber Sweeney (TNS) in the second heat of the women’s U16 100m Preliminaries, ran a 13.26 to take 7th in the heat.
Abeli Mukumba (TNS) in the second heat of the men’s U20 100m Preliminaries, ran a 11.37 to place 8th in a close race.
Aria Lavis (CNS) in the 3rd heat of the women’s U14 400m preliminaries, ran a 63.47 to take 4th
Deklen Emonson (PRM) in the first heat of the men’s U20 1500m preliminaries, ran a 4:15.48 in a tactical race to place 10th.
Dylan Heath (TNS) in the men’s U16 100m preliminaries in a close race to take 7th with a time of 12.00
Elizabeth Horne (PPA) in the 3rd heat of the women’s U15 400m Preliminaries, ran a time of 60.62 to take 4th
Emma Henley (CNS) in the 2nd heat of the women’s U20 400m preliminaries, ran a time of 58.41 to take 5th
Isabella Linton (TNS) in the women’s U16 Shot Put finals, threw 13.57 to take 5th place
Kaelan Callaghan (CNS) in the 3rd heat of the men’s U14 100m Preliminaries, ran a time of 12.98 to take 6th
Katelyn McGee (PRM) in the women’s U14 1500m timed finals, ran a time of 4:51.25 in the second timed final to take 5th
Keanu Hewitt Watson (TNS) in the 1st heat of the men’s U14 100m preliminaries, ran a time of 12.70 to take 5th
Lillian Hughes (TNS) in the second heat of the women’s U15 400m preliminaries, ran a time of 60.14 to take 3rd and qualifying for the finals being run at 3:10pm today.
