It’s with a great sadness that we advise the passing of our friend and colleague, Technical Official Barrie Cox who passed away peacefully this morning.
Barrie was a large supporter of Athletics in North Queensland, and will be remembered by so many athletes, technical officials and members of our sport. For many years Barrie has played a huge role in setting up athletics competitions and working tirelessly in the Technical (Equipment Shed), sharing his knowledge with the wider community. Many North Queenslanders would remember Barrie as the “tech shed on wheels”, supplying valuable equipment and expertise to competitions across North Queensland and beyond.
He was welcoming to all, enjoying many laughs on and off the track, and making fond memories with so many to cherish.
Our thoughts are with his family and many friends at this sad time.
